What's wrong with my torch?

Hi guys, about 2 weeks ago, I got a 1 head frag of torch coral. It was happy for about 1 1/2 weeks. However, this weekend I had to take off and did not feed my tank for Sat and Sun. Monday morning I noticed that the torch's tentacles were flat and short. The overall head seems to be receded. I don't notice any other changes other than the lack of feeding. All my Acans zoas, palys and duncan are fine and dandy. Any ideas?

maybe its not the food, maybe he is unhappy in your tank, my torch coral its light brown but when I recently got it, it seems to be happy for a few days and then he started to turn like dark gray and very close and the little tentacles that were out were also dark and very very flat, but i took it to my LFS so they can have an eye on him and he started to open in their tank, then after 2 weeks I took it back home and he started to be happy in my tank and It now it has 1 month in my tank and he always seem to be happy Ill post some pics and you can judge by your self..

AND AFTER I HAD IT FOR ONE WEEK AGAIN, BACK IN MY TANK.. AND IT HAS BEEN LIKE THIS SINCE THEN IT GOT A LITTLE BIGGER AND THATS IT BUT STILL VERY HAPPY

Thanks for the info. I hope it recovers. I just may have to take it back to have the lfs revive it for me also.

Yeah man no problem and if you take it back to your lfs try to visit him and see where they put him, in low or high flow and low to high lighting so when you take it back home can put it in the same conditions.. If you can see my pics you clearly can see that before was in the corner of the tank and after its in another place not near to a corner.. Hope my sharing can help you

Make sure it doesn't have BJD ( Brown Jelly Disease ).
Do you have any Leathers or other corals that slime around it? Maybe some slime landed on it, and injured it.
It's not the lack of feeding. They are photosynthetic ( I'm sure you know that ) and you don't ever have to feed them.

I did a bit of upgrading to my filtration system... Added a refugium and a chiller about 1 week ago. LFS tested my water and found the Mg at about 1250. I dosed Mg for last 3 days to bring it up to around 1350 and to my surprise, this morning my torch was open and had it's arms extended and swaying. I don't know exactly what did it. Everything else has been ok... Here's a pic.
