what's wrong with this polyp?

The base of this polyp looks like it's about to pop.
Anyone got a clue?

I've never seen a polyp so swollen on the bottom like that before.

No I got that colony from someone local.
But I noticed there seemed to be other problems with it today, so I did frag it into 8 pieces.
I found that crab and a couple sundial snails.
I'm starting to wonder about this colony coming from someones tank with all the little hitchhikers I found on it.

I have something similar happen to mine and turned out that it budded twin polyps... here's a before pic.. I will try to post a pic of what they look now when I get the chance..

the new growth are the twins that haven't really separate yet..
