What's your favorite fish?

1) pearly jawfish
2) wonderful personality, every day they decorate their home with new sea shells, they've got cute big eyes, they will breed aquariums.
3) reef safe
4) not agressive to any other tank mates and you can have more than one if you have a good sized tank.
You have to make sure the tank is covered though..they are known to jump. A deep sand bed 3 to 4 inches with lots of sea shells for the jawfish to choose from is a must.

a) Midas Blenny
b) Colors are just beautiful, especially his big black-blue eyes. It swims funny, and it's always minding other fishes' business. When I am about to feed my tank, it looks like it's smiling :D
c) Reef Safe
d) Not aggressive

Favorite fish I have owned....Achilles Tang

Beautiful, active, and loaded with personality

Reefsafe

Very aggressive toward new additions, and tangs, was the alpha in a fairly aggressive set up.

Favorite fish I would like to own someday in a single specimen setup .....Queen Trigger, never owned one, but I will go out on a limb and say it's not reef-safe, and is aggressive:D

But I am also a big fan of humuhumunukunukuapuaa, which is the picasso trigger. But I have never kept them.

1. Crosshatch trigger - Xanthichthys mento. Bluejaws, X. auromarginatus, are a close second.
2. They are smart, friendly, reef-safe, and most of all beautiful. They can communicate with you by grunting and spitting water. :p Plus, I can spell its scientific name (as opposed to X. caerulineatus - I don't know if I even got it right).
3. Yes.
4. Yes.

I also love a lot of anthias species - Pseudanthias randalli (Randall's), P. parvirostris (diadem), Odontanthias borbonius and O. wassi, Anthias salmopunctatus, and a lot of rabbitfishes, namely Siganus niger.

For me that answer changes like the wind. Usually I am a huge Conspiculatus fan. I saw one that was in captivity for over three years and it was one of the most elegant, beautiful fish I have ever seen. Not reef safe. I will get one eventually. That I know is a fact.

Right now my favorite fish that I personally have is my new Tinker's Butterfly.

Why? One, because I'm guilty of loving rare fish. Second because they are bullet proof as far as butterfly's go. Third he took a beating when I introduced him and he took it for a week and then decided he had enough and fought back. They have a great record for living a long time in captivity Lastly, They have a such a cool color pattern and has large portion of the purest white that is hard to come by in a marine fish.
Regarded as mostly reef safe. They do pick at tube worms and some small polyps.
I could probably post a response everyday because I always change my mind which is my favorite. Here's a pic of my Tink. Regards, Tim
