When a hammer does this, does it means it's going to spawn/split?

My frogspawn did the same thing. I had a lot of flow so I turned it down a notch and that helped. Then the branch split right where the bubble had formed. Hasnt done it since.

yea... thats exactly what it means...

the bubble is approximately where the split will form.. congrats...

Cool! Thanks! I thought that's what it meant but I didn't want to assume. I just got this hammer from a fellow local reefer who had it in their nano and didn't have room for it anymore. She had been waiting for it to split for ages and it never did.

sometimes the stress of a move or the change in lighting will "force" a split - much like a BTA might...

when i got my torch it was 4 headed and it turned into 7 heads within 2 months because of the switch from my LFS to my tank... and im about to move it again when i upgrade my tank so hopefully when i make the move and replace the MH bulb it will feel the need to split again because i lost some heads due to an experiment...
