I started my tank 2 days ago.. everything is setup and running except the skimmer. When is a good time to start running the skimmer? 2 wks in ?3 wks in? right before I introduct fish? Now?

Thanks

Right now is just fine..
Get it in there now as they require some time to break in and run properly..
Its not hurting anything to start it now.. It may not do much but pull some clear bubbles but it will break in now and be ready when needed..

What if I am introducing Microbacter7 bioculture and directions say to not run skimmer during process.. its says to add 4 capsules for 2 wks so maybe just wait til im done adding the doses?

Wait til you're done if the directions specifically state to not run the skimmer while using the product...and mcgyvr is right they do have a break in period. Mine took two weeks to fully break in before it started doing what it was supposed to do.

+1 on the 2 week break in period. When ur done dosing definitely get it running imo to get thru the break in. Or set it up in a 5 gal bucket with vinegar while ur dosing to get the break in going

Once you have the skimmer "broken in" and adjusted for the current conditions, turn it off until you have something to skim out.

It wont hurt anything to run it 24/7. However, if my skimmer is ready to go, and I am letting my tank cycle, I see no need to put the extra hours on my equipment, or run up my electric bill. Just me, but then I don't run my skimmer 24/7 either. It comes on 4 times a day.
