when to add the cleanup crew

So about a dozen red leg hermits, and 20 or so snails. I will get a cuke since I cured my rock in this tank, and there is plenty of stuff on and in the sand bed which is about 4" deep. I think I will hold off on the clownfish for a little while, and probably start with a few small chromis instead. I would like to get a cleaner shrimp too. I will test for nitrite and nitrate tonight. I have a calcium test in the mail now.
 
Caclium's pretty moot at this point. You salt will have enough in it, and you don't have anything "eating" it yet. :)

And although some people call scarlets "reds" they are not the always the same (depending on vendor). Reds (Clibinarius diguetti ) are OK, but IMO scarlets (Paguristes cadenati) are better and you could probably start with half of both those numbers.

Chilihedkc What part of Kansas are you from I live In Hutchinson and have been searching for local saltwater tank keepers. They are few and far between around my area. I know there must be someone there though!
