When will my green birdsnest encrust?

I have had a frag in my tank for about a month and it is visibly growing, but shows no signs of encrusting. Will it ever encrust? I have other SPS introduced the same time that are encrusting the epoxy.

I've grown a green birdsnest from an inch into a football sized colony and it never encrusted.

Not sure because I glued my frag down and over time it grew from that. The base does thicken up but it never encrusted a bit.

I used to have a pink birdsnest the size of a basketball that just sat on top of some rocks. I could pick it up at anytime. Never encrusted. Which was kinda nice when I needed to move it

Mine has never encrusted either and has been growing well in my tank for 6 months.

I started off with a frag and wedged it into LR; it encrusted slightly after approx. 6 months but definitely started growing upwards first!

I read in I think TFH that all seriatopora have a hard time encrusting at the base. My birdsnest and bird of paradise have never encrusted at all.
