Where can I buy a mated pair of spotted mandarin?

I actually have the Corals Magazine Issue (December/January, 05/06) that details the spawning and captive rearing of this species. It's not "terribly" helpful. From what I've gathered overall I'd say that both Mandarins have been successfully spawned and reared in captivity, but it's not a "regular" occurance like clownfish, dottybacks and bangaii's!

I obtained my mated pair of mandarins simply by putting a male and female together. I may have gotten a bit lucky, but that's literally all it took.

I think they need a minimum tank depth of at least 2ft to complete their spawning dance. I had mine exhibiting such behavior, but never resulted in the release of eggs as the depth of the tank was too shallow.

Mine try just about every night - sometimes when they "hit" the water surface it seems to startle them & they rush to hide. i feel kinda bad about it.

Like above - just put a male & a female together - get a male that's larger than the female
