I don't want to build my own sump becuase well I am not what you call a great craftsmen. I wish to purchase a sump with a built in refugium for a 210 gallon tank. The sump will hold my Bubbleking skimmer, heater, and etc.

If anyone has any suggestions as to where I can find a god sump with a built in refugium please let me know.

Thank you!

well i would strongly suggest building your own as melves reef has great input on how to do that and alot cheaper then buying your own. however melve would be able to make you one but shipping will cost a bunch.

Glasscages makes good ones

Glasscages makes good ones

I bought my tank and a sump with refugium from Glasscages in Dickson, TN. They are very good at what they do and reasonable also. Plus, they are nice people too. I have heard otherwise but I went to their shop and picked out my stuff. They were first class people as far as I am concerned. I will buy my next tank and sump there. Their website has more info: http://www.glasscages.com/

Sumps are super easy to build. Just measure out the pieces of glass that you need, take the measurements to Lowes, have them cut the glass while you go pick up some silicone over by the paint department then take it all home an silicone it into the tank you will be using for the sump.

I have about 20 minutes tops in this sump (40g)

Is there any special type of silicone that one should use that is safe for the reef (non toxic) Also what size sump do you recommend for a 210 tank?

Your LFS should have some "Aquarium safe" silicone glue.

Depending on your Drain pipe size at least a mag 7. Maybe bigger.

SLS makes a sump/refugium 125 for tanks up to 125 gallons. Its a pretty nice system. My LFS sells it for $190 w/ 2x18w light fixture. There is also a 90g model for $130 with light.

i believe the other good company is Ecosystems (could be wrong with name) but they have higher prices and quality.

I bought mine on Ebay- basically precut acrylic kit with special glue and bulkhead fittings. It had some leaks the first time I glued it, and the needle glue dispenser was a bit tricky. Otherwise it is great but the acrylic bows from the refugium to the return. Be careful where you put the top off float so you can work on it easily. I forgot pipe unions and ended up putting the return pump in the water. Mike

GE silicone I window and door is what you are looking for. You can get it at Lowes. As far as the sump size goes, the bigger is always better but anything will help.
