Pet's Playhouse usually carries bulkheads. Give them a try.

Otherwise you could try Theisens. They have the "farm" which are a little more bulky than what you'd normally find for aquariums.

JB is right...I think Pet's Playhouse is about the only place that I know of locally that has ABS bulkheads. I believe that you need to ask for them as I have never seen them on the shelves. Theisens carries Banjo bulkheads which are fantastic quality, but a little heavy duty for most aquarium needs. For most aquarium needs, ABS bulkheads are just fine. If you can't find what you need locally, Bulk Reef Supply has pretty much next day shipping and a nice selection of bulkheads in their plumbing section.

thanks for the replies and actually i went through all those scenarios but the only luck finding 1" bulkheads was theisens!. pets playhouse was out of stock and sea of marvels was closed for a few days. and bulk reef supply was my last option haha.

thanks again everyone!

In my searches, Bulk Reef Supply has proved to be the cheapest with shipping and the next day delivery is a nice bonus. Even some of the harder to find bulkheads are stocked (i.e. threaded x threaded). We're fortunate that they are so close.

I usually make my own, by using the appropirate size female part, and a male part that goes from the correct size thread to a +1 size slip fitting, and mash a rubber gasket between that and the glass.

Example: I'm working on a small fuge right now, I'll use 3/4" drain PVC, I have a 1" hole to fit threads from the male piece from the inside of the tank into 3/4" PVC T fitting, then run a durso stand pipe and drain side of course off the T. The male end that comes from the inside of the tank has a 3/4" fitting on the thread side, and is a converter piece from 3/4" thread to 1" slip. That way the 1" part provides a flange for greater area to mash the rubber gasket into the glass.

They're just as reliable and way cheaper. It can be helpful to lubricate the gasket first to ensure you get a good seal the first time, but don't over tighten either.
