Where can I get cyclopeeze?!

Don't quote me on this but I believe the lake they harvest the crustacean in cyclopeeze is all run dry and the owner of the company also passed away. That is what I heard the last time I discussed where the heck this stuff has gone. I could be wrong, but that is what I have heard.

My understanding is that you are correct. Argent sold the stuff from the salt lake in the Canadian artic. Other companies "cyclops" is sourced differently and is close but not the same thing. Although I don't know if there is much difference.

"CYCLOP-EEZE® are a selectively bred, biologically engineered microorganism which are cultured in a pristine arctic lake. The CYCLOP-EEZE® are a decapod (10 legged) microscopic crustacean that are instantly characterized by their intense blood-orange coloration.
In fact, the CYCLOP-EEZE® contain the highest known concentration of the fundamental and critical biological pigment Astaxanthene, accounting for their striking coloration. Complimenting this incredible pigmentation are previously unknown levels of the Highly Unsaturated Fatty Acids (HUFA's) especially those of the famed "omega-3" family. These highest levels of omega-3 HUFA's are essential for larval aquaculture applications and typically exceed forty times (40 X) those obtained from hatching the highest quality Artemia eggs."

Cyclop-eeze are significantly different than the other marketed cyclops (there natural counterparts).

Here is an interest comparison of nutritional value:

San Fran Bay Cyclops = 4.4% min crude protein
Ocean Nutrition Cyclops = 3.3% min crude protein
Cyclop-eeze Brand = 60% min crude protein

That is why I am looking for the actual Cyclop-eeze

That would suck. The website is still up and running though. Unfortunately smallest order of the frozen is 23lbs for $336. I dont even have a fish in my new tank yet haha.

I am going to see if my LFS will order a shipment.

I heard similar original owner passed sold to Argent but heard they do not have the proper permits to collect yet.. Sea dwelling creatures sells cyclop eez like some of the poster have stated and they are in little triangles

LFS hasn't had any. I was told that there was a shortage due to over harvesting. Take it for what it's worth
You should tell him to yell at his supplier (If he has one besides the direct source) and show him that you can order directly from the website.

Argent is cyclop eez. There are no other cyclop eez. So if sea dwelling creatures sells cyclopeez, they are argent cyclopeez. Couldn't find anything on their website however

I've thought about ordering a case of the freeze dried from their website and then re-selling what I don't need here. Really suprised nobody has done this yet.

I thought cyclopeeze was genetically engineered not wild? Where can you get a twin pack of pe mysis and calanus?

Cyclops and cyclopeeze are different products. The frozen cyclopeeze has been discontinued for now. I met with the Piscine Energetics (PE) rep at Reef a palooza. He explained the new product coming out was calanus to replace cyclopeeze. I also contacted Piscine and they explained to me that a couple LFS in my area that had just recieved the new twin packs.

Here is a article by Piscine about their new twin pack.

What's the big deal about cyclopeeze.
3 reasons:

1. It is irrestible to almost all inhabitants due to its high natural attractant content.

2. It is more than twice as dense/nutritious as natural cyclops.

3. It contains highly elevated levels of a pigment enhancing nutrient.

So basically fish love it, it's better for them than standard cyclops, and it promotes better coloration.

+1 all of my fish inverts and coral seen to go nuts over my food and I credit that to adding it. I also feed a little less food because of its nutritional value.

Disclaimer: obviously the coral do not get up and chase the stuff down but the PE is crazy when I put some in the tank. I am actually almost out and was not aware this is now hard to get :(
