we use them both, and like them both. Both have advantages and disadvantages. The ones from Warren are nice and compact and if used to transport a frag into a tank, seem to really "blend" well. The coral cradles are good for larger frags (although the ones from Warren also come in larget sizes, but we didn't try any out yet). And the coral cradle ones will "lock in" into the egg crate and have a wider base, which is a plus and a minus.. plus is more stability, minus is if you are cramped for space in your prop tank
. Gresh also had a neat idea to attach some thin, but larger, pieces of rock/coral skeleton, cut with a tile saw, to the tops of the plugs. They make a great plug for mounting zoas.. I haven't done it yet (like I have free time lately
) but I want to move all of our zoa frags onto those, they just really seem to be a better option for zoas. Plus they are flat and stable, something I can't say about the rock pieces that we used for some of our zoas
