Where can I get some clams(maxima's)

ok so clams direct....are there even any clams on there?

Live aquaria.....a few decent crocea's, but no maxima

someone PMed me some making waves site and they had all of two wysiwyg maxima's(one was nice). and if its not wysiwyg it doenst count im not ordering a clam i cant see.

the selection on that cappuccinobay site is amazing:eek2:

I should have added that the LiveAquaria Diver's Den website is updated with new stock added daily. The new stock shows up around 5PM central time. You can register and you'll receive an e-mail at the time the new stock goes up for sale so you don't have to check several times throughout the day.
 
Barry @ Clams Direct is very perticular about the quality of clams he sells. He is generally gets the pick of the litter so to speak. He then holds his clams for 2 weeks to make sure everything is ok with them. During these times and tank cleaning time he does not sell any clams. When he does release clams for sale they go very fast. All 5 of my clams are from Barry and I would not buy a clam anywhere else. He is also leading the fight against Pinched Mantle Disease.
 
well clams direct doenst have any maxima's and that making waves site seems to be down. im gonna try out cappuccinobay.com, they seem to have a ton of em wysiwyg.
 
welp decided to just go over to cappuccino bay since they are in town and holy cow!! Not only do they really have every thing listed on the site but there is actually more down there. Must be 150 maxima's there as well as crocea's derasa's and gigas.

im gonna stop by again after work and pick up a clam or two:D
 
whats wrong with the prices? i mean yeah its not $40 like most of the crocea's are but id much rather pay $100 for a maxima and have it keep the color over the next few years.
 
Dude when was the last time you saw anything other then a 2.5" or smaller maxima? but your opinion is just that.....

anyway I picked up a nice 3" ultra blue maxima to replace the one I had a while back and im thinking about getting another one. they had a bunch of 1" maxima's as well for $20 as well which got me thinking of doing a small cluster :D
 
I have 2 in my tank larger than 3 1/2" and I bought them at 3". A rainbow teardrop and a brown and white. Any pics of the new clam?
 
well those arnt blue now are they:p

yeah ill get a pic of it soon as i have time to wipe the sides down, its purty:D
 
I would take a true rainbow teardrop max over blue any day ;). the LFS just had an ora blue for $79.99 (2 1/2"). I would have bought it but I dont think I could keep up with the calcium
 
survival rate of tiny clams is very low
they keep good color in good health and light, does'nt matter what you pay for them:P
 
eh rainbow's dont do it for me, the blue's really stand out in the tank though. I got rid of my green and brown ones because they just blended in with the rocks. While im sure the 1 inchers would do fine under my 400w with some feeding i realised I have no where to put the cluster I would want to do:rolleyes:

oh and I saw the $300 clams and they are all 5-7 inches, i just wish i had the money or the real estate for one of those...man i need a bigger tank
