Where did PIA go?

i've never ordered anything from HI. are there any problems getting livestock from so far away? I'm at the other end of the U.S. in Alabama.

I order ALL THE TIME from them, kevin and the gang are top notch! I live in NY and It always arrives on schedual in great shape. I would say they are def on my short list of suppliers and you cannot go wrong with them, PIA is the awesome. you will have no problem getting them in alabama scapes

fully agree...

I order from LA mostly and it's delivered next day priority (usually get in the morning though). What is shipping time from HI?

Yeah orders to the east coast are fine. To be honest you would think shipping would be expensive.... but PIA is actually cheaper in that area as well.

My "short list" in order of personal preference:

PIA
Live Aquaria/Divers Den
NYAquatic

I don't order from anyone else.

well, that's cool to hear. just checked them out. not much going on on there so I'll be waiting some more. waiting for that perfect cool fish, fishies are limited on there atm.

yeah, their shipping is fast and very fairly priced...they do have a fairly limited selection compared to dd, but they get really terrific stuff...worthwhile checking them out a few times daily for updates...

most fish are limited because they are bought right away. they are smaller scale than DD, but also pay closer attention to the customer and product.

true, but they also leave up the pics of sold items...not like dd, where it is removed once purchased...

HI guys

Didn't think this thread was still going, or i would have posted last night!

Thanks for the nice words! We do try very hard!

Shipping is via UPS over night, which is an 18 hour transit time to the East coast. 18 hours is a very reasonable transit time to the east coast from hawaii (considering its a 13 hour flight on a plane!)

We leave some pics up there so people know we can get them and can ask questions if they need to. I think it helps present our company better (hopefully!)

We are going to expand and trying to bring in some more fish from different places as well this year, and of course the usual beauties :)

My last order from PIA was dropped off before 8am....of course it helps that I live 15-20 min from the UPS world hub :)

can't wait to see what you got!!
good luck!!

I got a female flame wrasse and a Potter's wrasse. The first shipment arrived freezing cold with the water at 56F. The heat pack didn't last like it was supposed to. I emailed them they appropriate pictures and they sent new ones out 2 days later. These 2 arrived in superb health and even my Potter's wrasse is out of the sand exploring this morning, which is extremely awesome because they just arrived yesterday. After I acclimated them, I did lights off and 3 sides of the tank were covered with a blanket so they only got a little ambient room light. I took the blankets off at midnight and now they just direct ambient room lighting. I will turn the light on the tank probably tomorrow or Monday. I will try to feed them this afternoon.

When I do my fish orders I ALWAYS request Hold at the Facility for pick up. Then they don't have to bounce around on a truck any longer than they have to and I can pick them up right away when the facility opens.

my second batch came in looking great. They did come down with something they couldn't shake though. That does happen sometimes. I'll try again this summer, probably. Taking down my QT for now.
