Home Depot and Lowes doesn't know what I am talking about even though they do have the saw holes for metal/wood but they weren't sure if they do stock some for glass/arcylic so do any of you guys know where I can buy them from so I can begin building my DIY refigium

Thanks in advance,
Mike

I used a wood/metal hole saw for my acrylic, but before I did I drilled a pilot hle first. Just go slow and there should be no problems.

Standard hole saw. Just make sure you get the right size hole saw for the bulkhead. The bulkhead manufacturers usually specify what size hole is required . I also would pratice drilling on a scrap piece of acrylic before drilling the tank. Once drill a couple of holes on scrap you will find it very easy.

It also helps to have something flat behind your acrylic, so when the drill goes through it doesn't chip/crack the acrylic. I used a flat board behind mine. It worked pretty well. Other than that, like was said, go slow. And pilot holes are very helpful.

Thats the ticket for acrylic. For glass, you need a diamond hole saw. You can buy them off of Ebay cheap. If your local store has them, there going to be $40 or $50 bucks.

Yeah, the LFS I have been regularly going to overcharges for the plumbing parts so I ordered most of it off from eBay instead of buying it from the overpriced parts from LFS...I will be going to home depot and get me a metal/wood hole saw since I have the acrylic...Thanks!

just a note for the rest of your plumbing...don't buy fittings at your LFS, but them at HD/lowes. Usually cheaper than your LFS
