Where do you find a tall tank stand?

I wish I could make one myself but I'm terrible at woodwork! How much do you think it would cost me to have a tall stand built? or any websites you suggest for a 75 gallon tall stand?
thanks!

Unfortunately you will have to find a local person to build you one and the cost will vary depending on materials and design.

Yeah, most pre-made stands are relatively short, so to speak. If making one yourself is out of the question and you don't have a handy friend you can bum a favor off of, I'd go to an LFS near you and see if they have someone they can recommend to build one. They generally deal with custom tanks and stands so it would be a good place to try.

Where are you located? There are many of us who have built quite a few over the years - check on your local forum.

I can easily bang together a way over built 2x stand for less than $200, or a solid hardwood stand for, well, how much you wanna spend???

I had mine built. Worth every penny because I can see the tank much better. The problem is I need a stool to reach and do anything.

Thats true about needing a stool but I think it looks soo much better not having to stoop down to look at a reef tank. The stand that I have now is only 28 inches. Too low for my liking!

If you are in south florida I'm a welder/ fabricator and have built many steel and aluminum custom stands of all sizes!

Thank you for letting me know! But I think I have found a nice wooden one at my LFS they just brought in for about 300 bucks! I never knew that they could order one in. Its pretty tall! The only downside is that it is not finished but thats ok because I can easily paint it black!

Yeah, I think you'll be happy with a taller stand. I made mine about 36" and it's definitely better for viewing, IMO.

I was in the same boat. I wanted to be able to see the fish tank from no matter where I was sitting in my room. Ended up going 36" high...gotta use a stool tho. I built it myself and just wrapped the stand in 1 x's. IMO, Looks professionally done and I have limited experience.
