Where does the airline go?

Hi i have a pretty stupid question lol. I just got a tunze 9004 skimmer and took it apart to make sure nothing was loose and when putting it back together I eont know whether the end of the air line goes into the pump or just sits in there I was assuming it goes into the pump though am I right?

Hi,I don't have a tunze skimmer and can't work it it out looking at pic.but my skimmer has an airline that protrudes above the water line,this is what makes the bubbles form in the pump.hope this helps

It attaches to the pump somehow.
