Hello,

I'm a newbie and also kind of stranger here in birmingham (From Korea).
Now, I'm trying to set up a nano saltwater aquarium. Where can I get good live stuffs for my aquarium? I went to petco, aquarium imports, Eds pets world. I think they have some fish but not many other live things. I read a thread about AD. Do they re-open? are they in pelham?

Thank you!!!

[welcome]

I'm sure there are many locals that will help you find what you need... :) What livestock are you planning on adding to your nano, if anything in particular?

if your looking for a good variety of inverts, Aquarium Fantasies in Montgomery has a good selection. They also have plenty of fish for a nano....

You should talk to gflat65, atlantisaqui, wpecoul and they can help you with corals. We purchased beautifuls frags from them. They are all in Montgomery, so you could visit Aquarium Fantasies too.

Thank you everybody!

I don't know what I want to put into my tank. So, I want to see some live varieties before making decision. Actually, It's not my call. My wife has power to decide... Now, I'm cycling saltwater.. I put a small Guppy. there is no saltwater animals yet.

Anyway, someday I should go to Montgomery because I heard that there is good Korean-Asian market also.

Thanks again!!

I would definitely suggest a drive to Montgomery for a visit to Aquarium Fantasies. Tons of stuff - fish, inverts, LPS, SPS and softies both colonies and frags.

Welcome to Birmingham theres not much here as for as salt water Aquariums go. The store they told you about is great,it's well worth the drive to Aquarium Fantasies. A few of us get together once a month for our CARC meeting, which is our area reef club. Our next meeting is July 25 at Triton Gardens (Coral Farm), you are more than welcome to go, just let me know. We also swap frags between the members in our club as wll as other clubs.

We are having a meeting on the 26th here in Montgomery at our house, you will see all sorts of coral in our tank, most of them purchased locally from frag swaps and local LFS(Aquarium Fantasies). Please COME!!!!!!!!111

Guppy can survive in saltwater like Molly. Initially, I put this guppy in saltwater having SG 1.019 and now it's 1.022. The guppy looks like happy.

OK good, I did't realize that guppies could survive in salt water. I knew mollies could but this was the first time I've heard about the guppies.

Thank you for informing me.

nck1992,

Like BHAMER6 said, we have a club that meets monthly and you would be able to get some "stuff" for your tank reletively cheap. We are taking a trip up to Tritons Garden in a coupld of weeks, we are going to carpool and you are more than welcome to attend. If you would like to go, let me know and I will send you directions to the meeting point.

Welcome to the forum.

BHAMER6,KingRicky,

I love to go with you guys but This time is not good for me, my wife and daughter.
We will attend monthly meeting someday... Thank you!

Hey, I just wanted to introduce myself and find out more about your monthly meetings. I am in Helena and I am in the process of setting up a 65gal reef tank. I would be very interested in meeting some locals and getting involved in you club/meetings. However I do not have anything to trade yet.

I second the welcome, keep an eye on this forum for the date and location of the next meeting.

Don't worry about having anything to trade yet, we are pretty good about helping out fellow reefers. All you need to do is participate in the meetings.
