Where to begin???

its now been a year since i set up my tank, really healthy thriving soft corals and a few lps hardies which have been doing well. i am looking to get some sps to build to the colour of the tank and my helper with my reef has said "dont even go there" with sps, but i think i could manage. Its not like its a terrible, poor quality tank. i think i been doing well. he said that acroporas a impossible to keep and has said even birds nest is expert only but i have heard very differently!!!!
He has restricted me to Montipora capricornis and thats it!!! i was really looking forward to getting branching sps.

Do you guys have any branching sps ideas which are easy which i could persuade my helper to let me try a frag of. I havnt asked him about montipora digitata which ive heard to be easy.

Well, I would say start off by taking over some of the duties that your "your helper" is doing. If you want to keep an sps tanks it's by all means it's doable but it's going to take a lot of diligence on your part or a huge comment from your helper (how often does he check your tank?) What is your system parameters (all of them), and as 29reef what equipment do you have you may not have the necessary pieces in place to support acropora.
