Where to buy and how to cut acrylic sheet?

Hello,

I'm making some baffles for my sump so just wondering where I can get some 1/8" acrylic sheets. I remember buying some from home depot a while back but I know they don't cut acrylic nor glass anymore so im not quite sure if they still carry it. BTW what is the best method of cutting these sheet? Is there a place I can buy from that will cut for me? Any info will help, TIA.

if you go to Tap Plastic go to the scrap bin and look for the sizes closes to what you need

I don't have any first hand experience, but from what I have read in build thread, 1/8" baffles will bow. I think you may want to go thicker.

Lowes is another option. The cut glass and acrylic and usually have a bunch of scrap they sell as well.

OSH will also have plexi in scraps. They cut and any size scrap piece is $.99. At least it was when I worked there.

yes it will, you need thicker than 1/8"

It's only a 20 gal sump do you think 1/4" thick will be sufficient?

It depends primarily on the height of the sump/tank, but probably.
