Where to buy sch 80 pvc in the bay area

The Ace Hardware stores around me carry SCH80 pipe. Some even carry fittings. If you're specifically looking for fittings and valves, I've had good luck with both Amazon and Supply House (1" true union ball valves are only $7.65, single union $6.35).
 
Any irrigation supply or plumbing supply company should carry it.

Are you just looking for the grey look? For aquariums the marginal extra strength of Sch80 is really not needed. In fact, for a given size, Sch40 has more flow because the ID is larger.

BRS carries several colors of Sch40 for that really technicolor looking plumbing setup!

I like the look as well, but I noticed that different manufacturers actually have different finishes. For example, the pipe I picked up from Ewing is actually a light gray with a flat finish, which actually looked a bit odd against the semi-gloss medium gray of all of my fittings, especially since the pipe scratches really easily.

If you're going for the look, then I agree with woodnaquanut -- check out BRS' selection -- even for gray pipe -- as theirs doesn't have printing on it. Irrigation pipe has printing on it, and while it can be removed, it oftentimes leaves streaks and other blemishes.
 
I'd recommend Ewing irrigation. They have a shop off of old Bayshore highway. Or you can try Ferguson heating and cooling. They are actually a plumbing supply company also and have a location on commercial street in San Jose.
