where to buy t5 bulbs?

I need to buy 6 ATI bulbs, a UVL and one GE bulb. Where is the best place to get them from?

ATI are a little hard to find. You'll probably need to order those online somewhere.

Salty Critter carries UV Lighting & Geisemann.

Aquatic Tech also carries UV Lighting, but I'm not sure if they carry other brands.

Most bulbs should cost you around $20 - $25.

I think I saw T5 bulbs at Aquatic Tech for $17.95 ea. They were UVL brand.

Thanks Kevin. I talked to them and they only have the UVL's and I only need one of those. The rest are ATI's and one GE.

Thanks for the info, I'm going to give the local store another day to get me prices, after that I will have to buy online.

Considering its going to cost me around $160-170 to replace every bulb in the fixture, would it be better to just spend the extra money and buy this?

My bulbs arent due to be changed yet, they are only six months old, but I want better quality and a different look in the tank. Is that MH fixture something I will want to change bulbs in right away too? If so its better to just get the t5's I want.

Look at Aquacave.com also $4.95 shipping and free after $175. I don't know if they have the ATI. Reef geek is about the only place to get them. I went with ULV Aquasun and the rest Geisman (comprable to ATI, just a little less par) since that was the only stuff local and every one seems to charge extra shipping for bulbs

diy reef charged me 9.00 to ship and they put the bulbs in sleeves and then stuck all of them in a 4' length of 4" pvc. so it came with a free piece of pipe..shipped fast too ..

I've got 4 bulbs. 1 ATI blu+, 1 ATI superblue, 1 UVL superactinic, 1 GE 6500. It has great lighting, but I think next re-bulbing will be without the GE. It gives off too much white light for my taste. The only reason I bought it was to grow chaeto behind my rock work. Maybe with all the other bulbs you have it won't be a problem.

I told grim reefer I wanted a bit more blue in my tank vs. the factory set up. He suggested 3 ati blue plus, 2 ati aquablue, 1 ati procolor, 1 uvl 75/25 actinic, and 1 ge 6500k. For less blue sub out an aquablue for an aquasun.

What do you guys think?

I will not replace the GE 6500 I have in my 5 bulb T5 setup. There is just too much yellow to try to get out. I have UVL Super Act, Actinic White, GE 6500, UVL 72/25, UVL Super Act. I still feel it is too yellow with all of them on. The GE 6500 may be why I have had such good SPS growth.

UVL Aquasun is really white, but it may be a 10K bulb not sure. The GE and Gman Mid day allways seemed to yellow for my taste.
