Where to Buy Valves?

only place ive seen and bought gate valves are at ace hardwares home depot ive never seen them at! mabe farm and fleet but never been in one

If you looking for gate valve, follow the link above. Or some of the places like Premium aquatics/Champion lighting should carry them, and your LFS may be able to get ahold of them for you. If youre just looking for ball valves.. Lowes, HD, Menards, Ace and more should all have ball valves. I am guessing that you dont really need the fine tuning provided by gate valves, and the ball valves just work for what youre doing.

I get all of my stuff from McMasterCarr in Elmhurst and you can even pick it up at willcall even on Saturdays. I like the Hayward bulkheads they sell but they require a special size hole. I also use their econo true union ball valves. They are sch. 80 with EPDM seals. Very heavy duty. You wont be dissapointed.

Yeah thanks, that's where Hubby's sending me tomorrow. Being a pipefitter, he's got the catalog. As far as the Haywards, my holes are already drilled. I'll ask about the Econo True union ball valves.

Wow, that website is so confusing! I looked up the order #s Hubby wrote & can't even find them there. I think I'll call it in in the morning.

Wow, that stuff ain't cheap! Just called my order in to McMaster & just for the bulkheads, it's >$77. Now to go to Menard's for the valves, etc.

I spent a ton of cash when I was plumbing my tank. I couldn't believe how much true union ball valves are.

I recommend spending the $20 on the Union Ball valves. Dont get the cheap Sch. 40 with the red handle valves they are hard to open and close and if you want to throttle down a return pump it does not let you find adjust it. Plumbing gets expesive I spent around $200 on my 120 when I replumbed it. But IMO well worth it!!!!

Anywhere local to get one of those garden hose adapters for a RO unit? The kind that has the small RO tubing fitting on the side? Or else a garden-hose to a sink adapter. I have the sink adapter, and would prefer a garden hose adapter now that I am moving things around.

on Mcmaster Carr, type in Reverse Osmosis and check out the replacement filters...I would never have thought to look there.
