I posted in reef discussion but no replies . I was looking to get a 180 tank with stand and canopy . I wanted to know if any of you know where to get a stand for a 180 at ? whats some good places to get one ? I wanted an oak or cherry . Possibly a black one but can't really find any. Also if you know a good place to get a 180 with dual overflows for a good price let me know that too !!! lol

Thanks

I know my LFS can order from any of the large manufacture's, and get any tank and stand up to 300 gallons. Another LFS, that is a bit further from me can do the same, and they sell their tanks at cost.

Tanks are pretty simple, you can get glass or acrylic, rim, euro, rimless, clear or black silicone, and overflows.

Have you tried asking at your LFS?

for cheap....craigslist but you might have to make sacrifices
stand...home depot DIY is cheapest, but you may not want this.
quality, all around package.....LFS could most likley order your request.

Yea, it was gonna be 1800 with oak stand and canopy and 2100 for the cherry. I was trying to beat this price. Is this a fair price ? Also, I wanted to try and find another place, because I dont really like the stands they carry.

I have purchased all the wood to construct my stand for the 180 that I am getting ready to order. $120 and 2 1/2 days later the main structure is complete and all thats left to do is skin, trim and stain. Not too bad if you ask me. There is a thread in the DIY forum just for creating stands by rocketengineer with everything there for various sized tanks, the only thing not in the thread is someone to build it for you.

Here is my stand my dad made for my 220.

I agree with building your own stand if you can. I built mine for my 125 for around $225. I still have to make canopy.

You could also source a local cabinet shop to build one for you. Could possibly save you some money on shipping costs and get you to your target budget.
