i am in need of a 1" bulkhead and 2-3/4" bulkheads. who even sells these size bulkheads around my area?
where to get bulkheads around parma/cleveland

yeah were so far north, ive never even heard of savko.
i guess the non threaded would be a better choice since i am going to use all pvc. does hector have non threaded bulkheads as well?
ive always wanted to take a drive down to phishy, ive gotten soem awesome frags from them at the swaps over the years, same with my buddy.
i will for sure take a trip down there by the end of summer and once my tank is fully up and running.

I think Salty Critter is probably your best bet if you are looking for non-threaded.

well is it easier to hook up the bulkheads to pvc using non threaded over threaded?

I like threaded myself, They are MPT so regular old home depot or lowes pvc fittings work fine. just wrap 2-3 layers of teflon tape. Then you can take it apart easier in the future if needed.
I also suggest you use a pvc union right below the 90 behind your tank. this will allow you to really easily disconnect at a later date.
As far as whats easier.. i think teflon and threads are easiest, but you will be cementing a lot of connections anyway so it doesnt matter. I just like being able to take it apart.

what does MPT mean?
so home depot sells threaded bulkheads? what kind of adapter do you use to go from threaded bulkhead to pvc then?
i do plan on using the union quick disconnects and shut off valves, but all of those will be cemented in other wise.

NPT means National Pipe Thread which is the standard PVC fittings sold by all hardware stores; and MPT means Male Pipe Thread which are just the specific type of PVC fittings you need for a threaded bulkhead.
HD and Lowe's do NOT sell bulkheads. They DO sell all the NPT/MPT/FPT pvc fittings you will need to plumb the tank minus the bulkheads. Bulkheads are only sold at specialty stores like Salty Critter or some online plumbing stores or maybe in a specialty plumbing store. SC or Premium Aquatics or someplace like that are your best bets, order online and have shipped.
You can use a MPT threaded adapter to screw into the bulkhead and then your PVC pipe will slide right into it. Just get the right size depending on the size of PVC you are using sounds like 1''. Take the bulkhead to the store when you get it and you will see easy enough what works with them.
