I need about 75 lbs for my tank and the fish bowl has about 10lbs total in all of thier display tanks. That place is really horrible! Where is a good place to get good live rock. Also will I be ok using a fair amount of base rock while my tank cycles??

Float switches anyone?

Mike,
I am starting to work on my digital thermometer to windows project again and wanted to ask you a couple of questions.
Below I have listed some parts I am looking to order. I would like to find a hobby site, or any site, that sells these individually or in small quantities. If you were looking for similar parts is there a site you would go to? Ebay usually isn’t too bad, but shipping all these parts separately would be the killer.

OPPS! my fault fingers moving to fast, copied the wrong word document. Sorry.

Here is what I meant to post:
some base rock mixed in will be fine if your setting up a new tank and cycling it. Lot cheaper and with a decent amount of LR you should still be able to get the beneficial hitch hikers you need and they will grow onto everything else with time. How much base rock were you thinking of getting? (75lbslive/25lbs base? 75/75?)
As far as LR the best place may be that pet place, but I know that is a long drive for you. I'll warn you that going south to Pet Safari is likely as waist of time. They occasionally get LR in and it's some of the cheapest stuff you can find. They also don't really take care of it all while they have it, in the past they have just had a protein skimmer sitting in the tub and 95% of the time it isn't running.

you can see what they have right on the web site. look for "fish at are facility" and they might have some that arent posted

Dr. Macs is mainly corals but they do have some fish...

They also have a huge array of different types of Live rock for you.. They only keep 1 or 2 types in stock but you can go there and order 50-100lb boxes of allllll different kinds of rock and it will be shipped to your door from their distributor.

Has anyone purchased one of those drop ship boxes? I'd imagine it's uncured, but were you happy with the size and/or selection?

it is uncured and its about 2 dollars a pound but if they ship its about 2.50 a lb for shipping alone.. so i guess its still cheaper they some of the other places at 5 or 6 a lb.
