I've used some nice Tygon R3606 tubing on small APT peristaltic pump barbs (1/8" ID tubing). I'll check to see if they are the same size barbs as the Profilux. Then I used a barb to standard 1/4" polyethylene tubing adapter (standard RO stuff) I believe. It worked pretty well in my freshwater setup. I was planning on doing something similar on my current build.
The GHL doser nipples (not actually barbs) look to be about 1/8" when comparing to a 1/8" barb. I used the Tygon mentioned above to one of these reduction couplers:
And the end of that sticks straight into any JG fitting. My next fitting was a 1/4" check valve, then to some regular 1/4" polyethylene tubing. Hope this helps. May seem complicated, but I'm looking at the two adapters with a short piece of 1/4" hose connecting them and they are maybe 4" in total. Never leaked either in about two years.
