where to place them an what setting?

i have 2 6000 on multicontroller in my 90 gallon wavefront and i was wandering where to put them and what setting would be the best

I don't know how the front will effect the flow. I would try each end blowing across and use interval 1.

how long should the interval generally be on interval 1? Is it ok to have it be 1 - 2 minutes over a long period of time?

They say it won't shorten pump life. I believe it does shorten the life of the drive unit though and everyone agrees it makes more frequent cleaning necessary as the pump heats up and stops with water inside it absorbing the heat and precipitating lime, if water was actively being pumped through the water barely warms up, but if it sits their it goes up quite a bit. Keep in mind the "natural interval" is 6hrs for a tide.
