Where's the Par Meter Now?

They must be mining the plastic to make this thing. I don't know why it would take this long to get it here. I've ordered many things from at least three different companies since the par meter was ordered and have got it all so far. As far as paying extra for faster shipping, I'd be getting that money back if it were me, that's total BS. I'm not blaming Russ in any way here but man this company sucks.

Well, I just got the nitification that the meter has been shipped. Not only we wont get it till Monday(even thou I paid for 2 day shipping), they shipped it to my house instead to my workplace in which I requested. What a bunch of dumb arse!

Russ, I think we need to contact their customer service with our complaints. Mainly paying for 2nd day shipping and shipping to the wrong address. If you want to forward me the web site, I will do it myself. This is not very good service, and I am a little concerned if we have any problems with the unit.

Sure Todd. It has to wait till tommorow. I used my work email to order it. I actually paid the 2nd day myself which was only 10 bucks more and they did offer to refund it back when I complained about the length of time it was going to ship. No biggie on that in hopes of us getting it before the meet.

Chris, I just got home and its here. I glanced thru the manual and it doesnt sy much LOL! We need somebody who has experience with it to give us advice on how to read it. Under my 400w before I submerge it, it tops out. 1999 PPF is the max whatever that means. 2" below the water is at around 1850 PPF. Thats is as how far as I got. Chris, you are the keeper of this thing till the next meet so when ever you want to pick it up or I can drop it off tommorow after work.

Sweet! Have we started a waiting list or how will we get a hold of it?

Want to bring it over when we fire up the 1000's so we can compare Chris?

WOW!!!!!

The par on the 2 1K's on the 225 was incredible! After seeing the 1K's in action..... there is no othe system I will concider on large SPS tanks.

I took the PAR meter into the sun for a base line and read around 1850. I then put it under my 400 Watt XM 15K SE bulbs 3 months old and the par read about the same as sun at around 4 inches of air. :D I'm thinking sweet!!!!! then I put it in the water and at 1/2 inch it droped down to 800!!! 1/2 inch of water and I lost 1000 PAR. Then at 8 inches it droped to 320 and on the bottom at 20 inches down to 200.

So I tested Chris' old 250 DE luminarc stelths with pheonix 14K bulbs around 3 months old ( I think) anyway they read about the same as the 400's at 4 inches of air 1850 or so any higher and the meter maxes out. Now here I am surprised, at 1/2 inch the 250 DE is 1150, I had to check both tanks again, 1150 at 1/2 inch. At 8 inches the pAR is at 550, at 20 inches it is at 130 and on the bottom of the 180 gallon, it is 100. I can't wait to get the 400Watt bulbs into the luminarc III's to see what kind of differance it will make.

Russ, Forget the 400's....... join the 1K club!!!

Yah right. That is one piece of equipment that I will never have. Its would be silly for me to place 1ks on a 60X24x24. Scott, post your results on the "Par meter thread"
