Which 250W 20k bulb?

XM are very very blue, you will like em, if you want blue.

Not familiar with the XMs but Giesemann are very very blue.
Keep in mind that you will lose some light intensity though

Yeah I realize I will lose PAR, but with 250W for a LPS tank, I'll be good either way.

So I'm just looking for the bluest bulb I can find, but keeping it as crisp as possible.

I may try out the Giessmans.

I saw the xm's at the fish store saturday and really liked them...crisp pop with a nice blue coloring.

See that almost seems like its on the border line of having that blurry, washed out look I speak of. Unless the bulb is just very close to the surface of the water?

I dont know. i think I may take a swing at the giessmans?

They're products are usually top notch. Even though its $20 more.

I have the XM's and am wanting to try the Giessman Megachrome 22K's, although my growth has been unreal with the XM's. I have an extra bulb laying around mailme

I have the XM's also. 2-250 watt and 2-175 watt. I really like them. You've been given a good choice so just pick one you think you'll like. If you don't like it try the other one next time. Another way to get more blue is to accent with T-5 actinics.
