Which all in one? Red Sea Sca other?

I can't speak for the reefer max but I own an SCA 45g (comes with all the same equipment as the 50g just slightly different tank dimensions) and I'm very happy with it and would recommend them. Steve I believe is his name does all he can to make sure your happy after the sale which is a bonus. The skimmer and return pump are good and don't need upgraded unless you choose to. There are many stand options as well. The only thing I upgraded was the plumbing, not to say the original isn't good but I wanted all hard plumbing. HTH

I looked at the Red Sea and then ended up getting a Cadlight for about 2/3rds the cost with additional hardware. They look almost the same. I didn't want a eurobraced tank, but for an savings of $700+ I'd make due. Now that I have it, I love the eurobrace, it keeps water in the tank better and it's a built-in shelf for when I'm working in the tank.

Love my SCA tank!

Having some of the best customer service in the business doesn't hurt either. Need something custom, call them up, need something answered or replaced, call them up. Steve is a great guy and bends over backwards sometimes to help his customers out.

SCA has my vote!

If I could do it again, I would prolly go with SCA. Don't get me wrong, I love my Reefer 250 but I could get a 90 for the price I paid for the 250. But with bigger tanks come more/larger components.

between the reefer 170 and sca 50, go with the red sea.
after you do the upgrades on the sca, you will be closer to the red sea cost.
plus if you want to upgrade to a bigger tank later, red sea will sell faster, a lot lot faster.

not sure what you meant by all in one, as reefer 170 and sca 50 both use sumps and not AIO tank.
