which bulbs to buy - T5

Hey everyone...I have the TEK 4bulb T5 fixture and I am needing to upgrade my lights because they are a little over a year old now...

What combination of bulbs should i get to get the a "crisp" color, with a blue hue. I would like the color to be perfect! What are your recommondations on the bulbs i should put in my setup and in what order?

Hey David

There is a local here on RC know as the GrimReefer - the T5 expert.

Find the massive "T5 Q&A" thread on the equipment forum. There are literally hundreds of suggestions for bulb combinations for various fixtures.

This early in the morning you may be able to get the 'search' function working at the very top of the screen.

get a fiji purple somewhere in that bulb combo if you can, they are a great addition for pinks and reds....GL

I have 3 blue+ and 1 Aquablue on a 75g and it looks great. Does a fiji purple produce any growing light. since I only have 4 bulbs I need all the grow light I can get.

yes the fiji purple is a daylight bulb with very high par ( 316)

Yes, plenty. Two would be way too much in a six bulb fixture.

I would only have two in a 10 bulb unit.

I second the fiji purple ... I have a six bulb fixture and have one fiji purple, two true blue actinics and three 10k, and I love the color

What is the rating on Giemman T5? I like to buy ICECAP T5 but it is too expensive compare to Giemman.
