Which cannister filter to buy?

I have a 180 gal mixed system (mostly soft corals and fish) with approx 250# of LR. I am looking at adding a cannister filter for additional filtration and improved water quality. I am also looking for a good UV sterilizer.

Any advice or experience with the combo units (cannister filter with built-in UV)?

Any recommendations on a good cannister filter alone for a 180 gal?

As a stand alone canister Ehiems are top notch. In-line canisters are available from Ocean Clear and Nu-Clear.

Emperor Aquatics, Aqua UV, and Current-USA are all very good UV units.

That would depend on what you want from it.

What do you want one for?
