Which comes first??

Hey Guys,
Not really new had a tank for 10 yrs before it crashed then got discouraged and got out of the hobby for about 5 years and now setting up a new tank again. So I don't remember which is easier: put your 2-3 inch sand bed in first then add your water or put your water in first then add the sand bed?? I think either one is going to cause one hell of a sand storm but not sure which is the easiest way.
Oh yea 75 Gal drilled tank with a 15 Gal sump.

I prefer sand first, then slowly add the water. It helps to put a small plate over the sand and pour the water on top of the plate so the impact of the water flow stirs up less sand.

I put the sand then a few plastic bags Om top of sand, the water and no mess at all.

Same as above and if using dry sand wash it good first.

This. Do it to reduce silicates! (Biggest mistake i made with my tank)
