Which Eheim pump is equivalent to a Mag 7?

I want to replace a mag 7 in sump that is used for uv sterilizer. Mag 7 too loud and big time vibration. Or any other recommendations besides eheim?

Thanks!

Correct me if I'm wrong but the eheim equivalent would be the 1260. I too have a mag drive 7 and have been considering one myself. A buddy of mine has a tunze silence 1073.020 return pump. It's extremely quiet.

I just want to make sure I don't get anything too overpowering. The mag 7 flow is good for my uv. Just darn loud and the vibration, uggg.

I'll check that 1260 out thanks.

the tunze pumps are great, I use one for my return and the other to feed my chiller and UV sterilizer

Tunze pumps derate very very hard when it comes to pressure drop/ft. i wouldnt consider the .
020 an equivalent replacement, have to go to the .040. a 1260 matches up nicely, a 1262 will probably be just a bit more flow than a mag 7, but not by much. i run a 1260 on my 58G, pulled a 1262 because it was too much pump for my overflow......sitting as a standby pump.

they are all good pumps, but there's a reason everyone namedrops eheims...darn quiet and will run for years on end.... they are built like sherman tanks.

FWIW, ive owned all of these pumps discussed.

It's hard to say, depends on actual flow..............a mag pump is rated w/ 2x the output supplied = it never comes close to rated flow. The Eheim hobby pumps are rated with the supplied output = they make all of their rated flow (which why you see many say Eheim under rate the pumps).

The 1260 will give you at least as much flow as you have now, likely a bit more.

Have you considered the compact line of pumps? The 2000 will give you 500+ at full throttle = likely real world similar to the mag 7. The 3000 is rated up to almost 800gph..........but.........they have switches on the outside to dial it down. The 3000 would give you the head room should you need it.

I have the 1260 the mag 7, and a mag 9. it seems like the 1260 is as strong as my mag 9.
