For a tank that size, the Double Cone 200 would be a perfect fit. It would be efficient and silent. For that skimmer, a setting between 28 and 32 watts on the RD3 pump would be ideal for best performance.
Oops. I just realized you were looking for an external and not internal.. That makes it a bit more difficult. We don't stock the external skimmers here in the US. They would need to be ordered from Germany. The only thing that we have that's external and would be small enough for that size display would be the Deluxe 200 external. http://royalexclusiv.net/Skimmers/S...-ext/Bubble-King-DeLuxe-200-external::56.html
The pricing there includes 19% VAT so you can deduct that from the price before doing the conversion. That said, why external vs internal? With the internal skimmer, there is no need for a feed pump. You save on power and get a very efficient skimmer. I ran external skimmers for years on my big tank but having made the switch to an internal skimmer many years back, I much prefer the internal skimmers now. If sump space is an issue, there is the Mini 200 which is one of the best space saving skimmers money can buy and it would be well suited for your size display too.
