Which fish first?

Hey all, I'm going to be ordering my first fish soon. Out of my list below, which fish (or more than one?) would you recommend I start with? My 65G FOWLR has been cycling for 3+ weeks. I will be using quarantine for 4 weeks or so as well.

Yellow Watchman Goby
Royal Gramma
Orchid Dottyback
Long-nosed Hawkfish
Flasher Wrasse
Valentini Puffer
Coral Beauty

Any feedback about the list in general is welcome as well. Thanks!

Start with the most peaceful fish first and most aggressive last. Add your angelfish last always. I don't know enough about those fish to give recommendations, so an expert will have to evaluate the list. Also, Google.

Yes, this is what I have read as well. I'm just not sure which fish is most likely the most peaceful, and should I add the two most peaceful fish at once. I've read several times that some fish should be introduced together.

Just go slow and don't add too many fish at once. Getting a new fish or a school of one species every month is a reasonable pace, as far as I can tell. These fish are all semi-aggressive or peaceful, so this community may work. Also, how big is your tank?

Duh in your description. You may want to wait another few weeks, just to make sure you tank is cycled. Also your tank may or may not be big enough for a coral beauty.

Forgot about quarantine. After your fish spends four weeks in quarantine the tank will be ready. Have you tested your water? because if ammonia and nitrites are 0 you have a cycled tank.

I would put the watchman goby in first if it were me:

Yellow Watchman Goby
Flasher Wrasse
Royal Gramma
Orchid Dottyback
Long-nosed Hawkfish
Valentini Puffer
Coral Beauty

I would think the Gramma and dottyback might fight. No clowns on the list?

I wondered about that. They are different species, but have similar body shapes. I wonder if anyone else can chime in on this.

Haha, no clowns. I'm planning a clown only tank in the future. This is because my fiancee said "no clowns?" ;)

Everyone needs a clownfish! I had two... once. Velvet has given me all the more reason to always quarentine. Also fish with similar body shapes are more prone to fight. This is because a fish with a similar body shape probably has a similar feeding habit and is therefore more likely to compete for the same food.

I guess I will jump in and use Guy's thread to ask the same question for me. I have a 150g 5x2x2 and thinking the following order:
- royal gramma
- flame hawk
- ocellaris clown pair...or 1...still debating as I had a pair 20 years ago and they got a little defensive (their accuracy at nailing the flesh part between my thumb and forefinger during maintenance was pretty amazing)
- scooter Blenny
- kole tang
- cherub angle
- starry Blenny
- regal angel
- mandarin dragonet
- purple tang

I will be using 2 week TTM quarantine and adding about a fish every month. I will be watching the copepod count before adding the scooter and then delaying the mandarin until I am certain that both can be supported.

Does the order look okay? It will take about a year to execute the plan. I debated adding a few green chromis or yellow tailed damsels but I am not sure I can actually hit the desired schooling effect in a 5' tank.

I appreciate the feedback.

Thanks!

I would say in a 75 with a nice rock formation that list of fish would be ok. Dotty gamma not sure I never kept those 2 together. But every other fish in that list isn't too aggressive. I would add the angel last

Fish stock order

Fish stock order

130G FOWLR tank planning on an aggressive setup want to stock with the following:

Clown trigger
Pink tail trigger
Saddle back clown
Yellow tang
Powder blue tang
Porcupine puffer
Volitan lionfish

Any thoughts?

Just an update:

I have added the yellow watchman goby, and tiny chromis, and I have a royal gramma in quarantine. The chromis was an impulse buy, :/ But he's literally dime sized. The goby is doing well with the pistol shrimp. I will probably go with the wrasse (fairy or flasher?) next, but no rush.
