best picture? In what respect, and for what purpose? Hard to answer without knowing those things.

Without knowing exactly what you are looking for here is my input (and I am no photography expert whatsoever), there is a really heavy tint of purple/pink in all the pictures so to me I like #7 because the green really pops in contrast.

Is it my favorite zoa / paly in the group? Nope, I like the pink ones. The shots themselves are awesome. They are great close up shots. Well done

it is for a photo contest of zoanthids which do you think i should submit?

I'll vote for 7, but I have to wonder what the others would look like without the color cast. To me # 1 looks like it has potential with the one primamry grouping looking nice, and the another OOF in the rear. JMO of course, good luck with the competition.

Oh, and the reason I like 1 better than 4 is due to the little bit of extra breathing space you gave the polyp in the lower left of the image.

if possible i would say try to fill the whole frame with zoas/palys.

Id vote for either 1 or 7.
