Which Koralia to use???

Hi, so I'm new to the forum and was interested in hearing some opinions for which Koralia's I should use for my 200 gallon reef I'm setting up. I know a few of you may not like the koralia's too much, but I live in Lima, Peru and these are pretty much the best we get here, the rest are a bunch of crappy chinese brand circulation pumps, which I don't really trust. The tanks is 220 cm long, 55 cm wide and 60 cm tall and I'm planning on having 4 Koralias, two placed around the middle of the tank and two placed on each side. My issue is I don't know which would be best, I was thinking the Koralia 750 evolution.

Also for lighting I bought two of the 36 inch Wave Point T5 fixture and a blue Led strip. I bought these during my last trip to Miami and was told that these lights would be good enough to keep corals. What do you guys think? Which kind of corals would do best under these lights???

Thanks for the help.

I would think that the 750's would be just fine. Also, lights should work fine as well, you ought to be able to keep light demanding SPS, but you might want to consider keeping them midway up in the tank.

Thanks for the reply, what would you think about LPS corals??

Koralia 750 is way too weak for your tank. Get some magnum 6 or 7.

I'm not too sure if they have those here. But considering my filter pump is about 800 gph + 4 750 gph Koralias + a couple other pumps I have in my sump all add up to about 4000 gph being circulated in the tank, would the stronger Koralia's be necessary?

Not too familiar with those, I thought magnums were circulation pumps? Hook me up with a link if you can, I'm still learning :wildone:

OP: I'm keeping LPS and SPS under my LEDs just fine; you ought to be able to keep pretty much anything you want!

The Evolution 750's would be super weak in your tank. We use 2 750's in a 26 gallon bow front and there's still room for more flow.

So basically what I'm understanding of this is that the 750's will create that much flow, but the power of that flow will not be strong enough for the distance each koralia will have to cover. Each koralia is gonna be responsible for the flow of about a meter of distance, so I'm guessing the power of the flow must be greater, so the 1400's should be my best bet.

Concerning the lighting, I see I made the right choice. Pretty excited about getting my first corals soon. The tank should be fully ready today, just gotta start filling and cycling. Good part is I have a 40 gallon tank that has been running for a couple months now with a few mollies and hermit crabs so, that tank will be used to seed this one, hopefully start speeding up the process. Pictures will be up soon.

Thanks for the help everyone.

You're not going to get a meter out of a evo750. I had them on my 40g breeder (3 feet, or ~1m long) and it took one on each end aimed at one another. Still, I thought I needed the 1050's on that tank to really do the work. The 40br is 36"x18"x16" and I probably needed 2 1050s and a single 750 or pair of nano 450s to get me what I wanted. A pair of Vortech M mp10s would be perfect for that tank.

I know that is WAY smaller than what you're looking at, but hopefully it puts it into perspective.

I think I'm gonna just have to go with the 1400's, I don't get the vortech here. 4 of them should be good enough hopefully.

Thanks for the advice.

IF you are doing a sps reef tank I would run 4 Evo 1400 or 2 1400 and 2 1050. There is nothing wrong with Korilia power heads. I have been using them since they first came out and they are great. I still have 2 old K2's running in my reef tank.
