some big changes are coming my way..
with a new house purchase looming on the horizon...
gonna need a bigger tank to play with.
should have a 150 in the works.

curious what LED fixtures are hot right now,
and what would be appropriate for a tank of that size.

also curious who has what for sale as for skimmers/LED fixtures.

What are the dimensions of the 150? Is it going to be a 150 dd?

To ask "Which LED fixture" is an incomplete question.

What is it about a fixture that is important to you.

example....price, controllability, warranty, how well it holds it's value, reviews, PAR, ect.

List these things in order of importance.
....and what are you wanting to have in your tank?

This will help us to help you.

should be a 150 DD.
planing on a mixed reef.
mostly SPS and LPS.
price and controllabillity are most important to me.

By 150DD you mean a 36x36x27?

Price and controllability are the 2 most conflicting things. So which is more important?

are you ok with used?

i believe those are the dimensions.

used is fine.

CONTROLLABILLITY!

If controllability is important I would go with Radions. They are the best LED fixtures out there right now IMO. I am very happy with mine. Acclimation is really important though. I torched a few corals when I put them up.

+1on the radions and it's hard to go into a lfs that doesn't already use radions. I just bought 3 more gen 2s they go for around 350 to 400 used I wouldn't pay anymore than that.

The UV in the G3 makes a big impact on corals.

A G2 pro is the same as a G3

G3's did away with the cap-sense buttons which some had issues with.

I am a huge fan of radions ....no secret there....not a fan of the cloud based only way of programming them though, but they are way easier to program than anything else I've dealt with.

2 would be all you would need for that size tank.....in fact it would be more than you "need" which run at a lower power will only make them last longer.

And certainly nothing wrong with picking up used ones when it comes to these lights.
