Which light set up is more efficient?

I am looking to upgrade my lighting. I currently have 36 watts of NO flourescent. I want to add to that 65 watts of additional candle-power. I'm looking to buy a retofit kit no longer than 24".

Wattage being equal, which is more efficient, electricity-wise - T5 or power compact?

Would you recommend one over the other for other reasons?

t5 for the par and less W. I wish I would have gone the T5 route with my big tank, but I went MH. I have a neighbor that has T5 and it is intense. BOL
