I have had a current nova extreme 8x54 for a couple of years. Over those years I have had many problems with it. The ballasts, the bulb connections, and faulty plugs. Now after all of this the company that I bought it from has offered to refund my money so that i can get something else. The main question is what should i go with. I liked the fixture when it worked but i am aware that it is inefficient because of the individual reflector. I know that Current has made a new 6 bulb with individual reflectors and I am kinda leaning towards that, mostly because the company carries that and it wont be to much hassle for me to get. I have looked at the tek fixtures but i cant justify spending any more money on this tank to the girlfriend. Are there any other options or suggestions? Im not against halides but i do have a fresh set of replacement bulbs in the fixture that im returning. Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
