what type/brand/size media do you use in your Ca reactor?

How much should I order for a 100 gallon tank?

I just bought the same stuff. I don't have my reactor running yet but after a lot of research and asking, it seems like this is the stuff to go with.
 
Is the one container enough or should I get more?

can you guestimate on what the dimensions of the container the media is in are? I am building a sulfur/Ca reactor and want to make sure the chamber is large enough...

How much you need will depend on how big the reactor is and holds. If it is a large reactor I would get two, save a little on the shipping. It doesn't go bad. :-)
 
The chamber for the Ca will be 6.5X4X12. I will be able to stuff some more of it into the sulfur chamber if I need to...

Does anyone know how large the package the media come in is?

Jack: I bought that brown with green polyps sps at the swap. Roy told me that it was yours... Do you have any tips?

I'm ordering this from premium aquatics in the morning with some other stuff... If anyone needs anything let me know

The green polyp one is a nice one. It grows slow otherwise care is the same for any sps. :-)


One container should be enough but it is cheap enough I would get two.
 
I currently am using the ARM's media but thats what came with my packaged deal when I bought the GEO Cal Reactor. I had to buy another container because it held 12 lbs and each container was only 8 lbs. After this stuff is gone I'm using the Schuran brand as from my reseach I find it to be the best on the market. This is all JHMO. :)

I think the GEN X brand also is a 8lbs container but not 100% sure.
 
GEN-X brand is indeed 8lbs and it is what I am using. It is a large grain type like the Schuran media. 1 jug filled my reactor up fairly well, although not full to the top.
