which MH bulb

Time for new bulbs and would like some help. I currently have 2x250 20k hamiltons with vho actinics. I am looking into either a 10k or 14k. What would you recommend. Seems like a lot run the xm10k for par, but i sort of like a little blue look also.

Contact premium aquatics and ask if there is a release date for the Iwasaki 15,000K's. They were "supposed" to be out in the first couple months of this year. If so you can pack one heck of a par punch as well as a true 15,000K color rendition. I know the 175's I have really put out some par. In order to go up in par I had to go to 400 watts.

If you already have actinics, I would go with the 10k...

I have the German 10k's and I love them. The light is definately white with a blue tint but with actinic suplemments I think it's perfect. I'm getting ready to replace mine soon due to age but will go with the same.

I love my XM 10k's.

I ran 250W XM 10K's with VHO actinics over my 120 and really liked the color. It has a blue hue, but it doesn't look too blue.

SPS really thrived with that combo also.
