Which nano tank!!!

Well, my birthday is approaching (July 25th), and I am really wanting a nano cube to keep me occupied before I get my 240g during xmas time. Now, I am wondering what brand is best. I have been looking on nanotuners.com and I am really likeing the Finnex M tank with the MH, and the really n ice filtration w/skimmer. Thats, so far, the coolest one IMO. But I am wondering how it compares to the JBJ and Aquapod. Please LMK and post pics if you have some!!!

Comon anyone!?

EDIT: I cant decide between the 70w Sunpod or the 150w Sunpod. Anyone have any suggestions? Also, do they come with bulbs or not?

Question?

When you get your 240 at Christmas what would you do with the Nano?
Would it be a QT or frag tank?
If so I'd same the $$$$ and get an AP or NC.
Get the stock lighting and fill that puppy up with some nice LPS (Hammer, Torches, Acans, Candycanes, etc...) and grow them out so you can transfer them into your bigger tank later.

Just an idea.

Well, when I get my 240g tank, it is just going to be another tank. The 240 will be in my finished basement, and the cube will be in my room. But why not get the halides? Cant I keep more corals and clams with the 70w or 150w halides? I really need to know soon!!!!!!

Buy 24 AquaPod with PCs, there great and a lot of fun.
Save the rest of the money for the BIG tank.
Cost and bills will be high enough.
Just my opinion.

Agree with DRC. MH bulbs are expensive to replace, not to mention the higher utility bill.

You can get the MH on the Nano and keep clams and SPS if you want, I'm just saying that personally I'd get some nice LPS and grow them out. You could only keep 1 or 2 clams in the nano depending on how big of a sandbed you wanted. Doesn't seem worth it.

Ok thanks guys. Now, I am wanting to do that mod with the 2 Maxijet return pumps, and an outlet with the rotating output thing. Does anyone have an exact list of what I need to buy to do this mod? Thanks

The Hydroflow is like $15 tops and I think I got mine from Premium Aquatics or Dr. Foster and Smith. You'll need teflon tape from Home Depot to secure it otherwise the water pressure is to strong and falls off.

Where are you going to put the 2 Maxijets? I assume 1 in the third chamber, do you want the other in the second chamber?

I've seen some nice Nano's where they have it setup that way. They just drill a hole through the back wall, towards the middle of the tank and get some sort of PVC from Home Depot and rig it up.

The nano cube is better constructed than the aqua pod. Just compare the qulaity of the hoods. this is also the opinion of a well know nano cube company that sells and mods both brands.

Well, I just bought the Aquapod 24g with 150w MH light. I also bought all the plumbing for the dual Maxijets. But I didnt get the Hydroflow defletor because someone said that they splash water, and since I wont have a top... I dont want it to get on the halide fixture. I also ordered a Won Brothers 100w Titanium heater! I will post pics when I get it set up!!!

From www.nanotuners.com They had a price typo, which was less than they were supposed to be asking, and they gave it to me for the cheaper price since I asked them about it. I got it for $380 with 150w MH. I asked them if I could get the 150w in place of the 70w and pay the difference.

I have been reading around, and saw how everyone hates the AP stand. Why? That kind of scares me since I ordered one with the tank!

Is it really bad? I mean is it gonna break and ruin my floor or something like that? Also, my friend just told me that the Aquapods have really thin glass? Is that true, or did they fix it?

I've never heard the AP having thin glass. Old Nano Cubes did and they cracked like crazy. That is why if you buy one now it will have a serial number on the back with a build date (I think they started this about a year ago).

Don't know anything about the AP stand. As long as you keep the stand on a level surface I can't imagine it tipping over. I have the cabinet NC stand and it works great.
Ever seen the S-Curve stand for the Nano Cube. I assumed those were a slight nudge away from certain disaster and I have heard they are very stable.

What works for 1 person might not work for another.

Oh, so maybe he got it mixed up with the old Nano Cubes. I heard that the top of the tank warped from the weight. Is that true? And he said it made the doors hard to open. Maybe I can reinforce it somehow...
