which nem for me?

i need some advice on what kind of nem to get. i would like something that will host my B&W tank bred orcellias, be sand dwelling (i have a SPS dominated display) be colorful but not get to big, and hopefully not eat one of my other fish.

with all that said the answer may be none but id like some opinions

i was thinking about one of the mini green carpet nems form live aquaria

good idea or not?

If you want your clowns to be hosted, I would pass on that anemone -- foresee your clowns being an expensive meal.

For your requirements, a couple come to mind (( should note, none of the natural hosts for your clowns are sand dwelling )) -- LTA (( M. doreensis )), H. Malu, H. Crispa, and S. Haddoni. Of those, H. Malu will stay the smallest, but are harder to find. The rest will get fairly large and you would pretty much have to clear out the left side of your tank for. Would still have to move a few things for an H. Malu.

Then there is the issue of flow, which might be too much for an M. doreensis and an S. Haddoni, but with some work might be able to move the powerheads around so that spot has less flow.

That is an H. Malu, one that I thought would fit best, though that one is "back ordered" and might take a while to find --- should also keep an eye on the diver's den section, they have them from time to time.

i think a lot depends on how confident you are in your skills. from the look of your tank you should have no problem keeping one of the harder nems such as a sebae. I dont know about your location though unless you plan on moving those nice looking colonies

the frogspawn to the left and maze brain to the left will be moved, the red planet sps has to stay and so does the hammer head coral but i think i am giving the nem a lot of room. from the bottom of the red planet to the sand its like 6 inches and from the edge of the rock to the hamer head coral its like 8 inches and then its all sand.... i dont know how big they get tho...

yeah those 2 pieces should be enough. although it could move.

I have never kept an H. Malu long term, but the other sand dwelling anemones that I listed will easily take up more then that amount of room you listed.
