Which nem is for me!

I have 2 ocellaris clowns, not sure if they are a mated pair, but I want a nem for them. I'm stuck what kind of nem do I get that they will like?

What size tank?
What lights do you have?
How long has the tank been set up?
Do you have a sandbed, if so how deep
What are your current water parameters -- with numbers.
What else is in the tank, livestock wise.

Well I do not have the right lights just yet I sill need to know which ones to get for my 29 g tank. And the sand is about 1 1/2 deep. The water params are trite 0, trate 2, ph 8.2, temp 77, SG 1.022. And the other live stick is 2 peppermint Shrimps and a fire shrimp. So far, the tanks been set up for about a month and a half.

I know that it's not ready just yet. I still need the proper lights(still searching) and I am going to wait a little longer, I made this thread for future l
Planning

Keep in mind most salt mixes give directions for a fish only tank, where 1.021-23 would be acceptable, however, in a reef tank you will want to keep your salinity a little higher. I keep mine around 1.026 just cause 3 1/2 cups of reef crystals gives me 1.026 in two gallons of water.

As for lights I think if you got a nice 4 bulb t5 set up you would be good on whatever anemone would fit best in the tank(probably BTA).

m758b033, I expect you will have an sg a lot higher than 1.026 if you dissolve 3 1/2 cups of RCs in 2 gallons. That would be enough for 7 gallons.

Bubble Tip Anemones are great beginner nems, and probably the only sort you should really try in your size tank. It's recommended to wait 6mths before getting any nem, so your tank has a chance to mature.

I highly recommend reading through www.karensroseanemones.net, it was a huge help for me when I got my first nem.

You might also consider trying a non nem host for your clowns. Fuzzy mushrooms, leathers, hammer coral and frogspawn can all be taken as hosts. The clowns will exhibit the same behaviour, but these corals are a lot less demanding and easier to care for in a small tank (plus you can get them sooner.) :)

Misunderstanding 3 half cups in two gallons. One cup gives 1.0021 in two gallons one and a half gives me 1.0026. Meant to post this a while ago but I guess it didn't go through.
