Which Shrimp?

I would like to have your Opinion on which shrimp you like & why?

I am looking for a shrimp that doesn't hide all the time. I like the fire shimp becasue of it's color, but I have heard they hide a lot.

I think that most if not all shrimp prefer to be hidden. My Blood Red/Fire shrimp hangs out behind the rocks except during feeding.

my scarlet cleaner shrimp doesnt hide at all and is normally perched high on a rock with his antenne displayed. I dont know if this is normal behavior but he also "walks" upside down on the water's surface every so often.

My cleaner is the most active of my shrimp.

Picking them out at a LFS is there something to look for when buying.

i guess look for active shrimp, displaying itself. many cleaner shrimp actually will try and clean a person's hand when it enters the tank, so pick one that moves towards the 'net'. Make sure it isnt missing a limb/antenne.other bodypart if possible and has no discoloration to it with bright white accents. other than that, trust your gut

and also make sure the shrimp doesn't have any parasites or anything that looks out of the ordinary attached to it's body. You will definitely notice a bulge/bump wherever it may attach to the shrimp...

btw, like Poorcollegereef said, look for ones that are not missing a limb/antennae, but if that's the only one and it looks healthy and all, it'll be fine as well, since they will grow back after each molt. Good luck!
