Which skimmer BH2000 or LX1000S

Looking to get one for my heavier stocked 55 gallon but upgradable to 90 gallon down the road. While they "may" be a bit much initially, down the road either should be enough to handle a bigger tank.

Which of the two are better and why? I am more concerned with performance, noise, and cost. But if the LX is hands down a better HOB skimmer then the price is not that big of deal. Any other recommendations for around the price point of these? Thanks in advance for help!

LX100s definately. I had one on my 75 gallon and it was great. The bubble blaster pumps are very good.

Yea I would get a LX1000 if you don't have a sump. The bubble blaster pulls in more air than the BH2000's pump and it is reputed to be a better pump overall. The only reason that I didn't get one is the fact that I would have to extensively modify my hood. The only downside though is the large intake might look weird on a 55.
