Which skimmer for with a SMALL footprint

I have a 72 gallon bow front and an oceanic brand model 1 sump because of the bowfront my sump is very limited in space. What is my best option here? From the factory the sump has a removable container that held bio balls. I removed and filled with live rock.I've considered removing the container and added baffles or something in its place but fear the work involved? The available space remaining with the factory box is approx 7"x12". The LFS sold me a redsea turbo which has been a total waste and pain since day one. What suggestions may someone offer me. I have had a recent spike in algae growth and feel a skimmer may detract this mess just don't know which will fit in such a small space.

You limited in what you can chose. The smallest Euro-Reef has a footprint of 9 X 9.

You might try posting in the Lighting, Filtration and other equipment Forum.

If I removed the compartment that oceanic made for the bioballs and just placed the intake hose at the base of the sump and put live rock in the bottom would that essentially work... this would free the space up to 15x12... as long as it is okay... I would perhaps put the rock around the skimmer where space is available?

Limited space inside your sump? If you are willing to spend to get a better skimmer. How about Deltec MC500 ? :D
Dimensions: Length: 8.25" Width: 3.5" Height: 21"
Sometimes people sell them used for around $330.

Just bought an ASM mini "G" yesterday.... I have a 58g cube with at least 20g sump....it is homemade so not sure of the total volume.

I plugged it in and had to dump the cup within a half hour, was real watery, and lightly colored.

After another hour, had a half cup of coffee colored, dumped that, went to bed... this morning, have about 1/4 cup of good dark skimmate, and tank is crystal clear!

I was over feeding and didn't have a skimmer for this tank, only had a hang-on, which was too tall for my sump.

Water was a little cloudy,........ this morning, it is spotless!

The only bad thing is that you cannot control the amount of air going into skimmer, I don't think I will be needing it, as it is getting better all the time, but there is a valve mod that you can buy for this skimmer...

HTH!
